Incorrect directory settings in Retrospect Remote, used with our RECOVER-iT! service, often cause users to get errors that indicate the software can't write to the backup directory. So how should this be configured?
Your directory setting should be blank the server knows which directory is yours by your login and password. However, Retrospect frequently won't let you leave the directory blank. In this case, try using a single tilde (~) or slash (/) instead.
If it still doesn't work, test your account with a regular FTP client such as Anarchie or Fetch. Login to the server backup.recover-it.com with your username and password. Try uploading a file. If the upload works, then your account is working properly and there is a problem with Retrospect's settings. Dantz will provide technical support for Retrospect.
