Why can't I send mail through your SMTP Server?

First of all, make sure you've enabled SMTP Authentication in your mail client. In order to send mail through our mail server, you must authenticate with your e-mail address and password for outgoing mail. Do not enable SSL or secure password authentication. For examples of how to configure common e-mail clients for use with our service, check out the other FAQs in the mail section.

If you've configured your client for SMTP Authentication and you still can't send mail, your ISP may be blocking access to external mail servers as an anti-spam measure. Many large ISPs do this to prevent spammers from "hijacking" vulnerable mail servers or running their own mail servers to send spam.

If your ISP is blocking external SMTP (on port 25), you can use their mail server as your outgoing mail server instead. Mail you send will still look like it's coming from your personalized e-mail address at your domain name here.

A few large ISP's that block external SMTP, and the name of their smtp server to use in your settings, are:

EarthLink
smtp.earthlink.net

MSN
smtp.email.msn.com

Comcast
smtp.comcast.net
