Description
Digital.Forest, Inc, a Seattle-based colocation data center and managed hosting solution provider, has immediate openings for NOC technicians to support our south Seattle data center. This position is part of the team that is responsible for monitoring and responding to critical infrastructure (HVAC, Electrical, Network, Security) and application environment anomalies as well as being first-responders to client support requests.
Responsibilities
- Responding to Critical Infrastructure alerts and escalating according to established procedures
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients
- Application environment troubleshooting
- Server installation and removal
- Network cross connect installation and demolition
- Completion of phone, e-mail and web-based work requests
- Account setup and closures
- Light system administration (with provided tools)
- Documentation

Minimums
- 5-years work experience
- 2 consecutive years technical support experience (ticket system, phone and email)
- 1 year in a data center in the last 3 years (any role)
Advantageous Experience and Knowledge
- Customer Service
- Web Services (IIS, Apache, SSL, DNS)
- UNIX shell
- A+ Cert and demonstrable experience on server hardware
- Diesel generator operation
- Large UPS operation
- Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) operation
Work Requirements
- Work any shift
- Work weekends and holidays
- Lift up to 50 lbs to chest height
- Work in noisy, hot or cold environments for limited periods
- Work outdoors for limited periods in all weather conditions
